For the most rich Moscow noblemen and merchants Kazakov has elaborated a type of “home-palace” – a large three storey building with wings.
One of the best examples of such a rich mansion is Demidov house (1780-е гг.) that stately stands along the lane line. The house keeps the solemn representativity of a strict façade decorated with a big portico and a fine stucco moulding. Some of the original interiors of ceremonial reception-rooms have preserved the rare decoration upon the Kazakov project of the times before the Grand Fire. In the so called “golden rooms” the architect used all artistic devices.
