Description
Carlo Rossi (1775–1849) was an unrivaled maestro of grand spacial ensembles of his time. His most impressive project - buildings of the General Staff, Treasury and Ministry of Foreign affairs, who's facades have embraced the Palace Square with a giant curve.
The famous Triumphal arch crowned with a Roman quadriga, decorated with statues of Warriors, flying Glories and compositions of war trophy show the heroical and pathetical tonality proper to the Empire style.
